Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Morning light does not argue with darkness; it simply arrives, quietly and steadily, and changes how we see everything around us. In the same way, hope often begins in small, ordinary choices: a kind word, a patient reply, a willingness to begin again. We do not need to have every answer before we can live with faith today.
Service and generosity are some of the clearest ways that light shines. When we share what we have, offer our time, or notice someone who feels overlooked, we point beyond ourselves to a generous God. Such goodness is not meant to draw attention to us; it is meant to bring comfort, dignity, and encouragement to others, and to remind them that they are deeply loved.
So today, let us carry hope gently into whatever this day holds. If we feel tired, we can rest in God’s steady presence. If we meet someone in need, we can respond with grace. May our words be honest, our hands be ready to help, and our hearts remain open to God’s quiet work in us and through us.
Prayer: Loving God, thank you for this new morning and for the light of your love. Give us hopeful hearts, generous hands, and the courage to serve others with kindness today. Help our lives reflect your goodness, so that others may find comfort and hope in you. Amen.
May your day be bright with God’s hope, and may your kindness be a light to someone today.
